The words “wine” and “France” are practically synonymous – not just across Europe, but around the world. And of course, we couldn’t pass up this theme. This French-style wine shelf was created with the old, charming France in mind – its picturesque cityscapes and unmistakable atmosphere. We hope we’ve managed to capture that cozy feel and unique charm.
On the central panel, you’ll see a typical southern courtyard with a café tucked inside. The name “La Belle France” adds, in our view, a warm, homey touch and a nod to a beautiful past remembered. Tables with white tablecloths and chairs are set all around – some already dressed with wine and glasses, some with flowers in vases, and others waiting for unexpected guests. Grapevines wind their way across the top and sides, something quite common in the south of France. Street planters filled with flowers and empty wine barrels, as we envisioned them, further immerse the viewer in that unmistakable French vibe.
On the side panels, you’ll find a vintage-style wrought-iron street lamp, along with a sign bearing the improvised street name “Boulevard du Vin”. Altogether, this wine shelf is made for those who want to see and feel the South of France every time they reach for a bottle. The shelf itself is made of solid pine and finished with a clear, water-based varnish. This approach allows you to see the natural color and texture of the wood in all its detail, while still providing a light protective layer over the entire piece, including the artwork.
